The company specialises in Enterprise
Activities to encourage individuals or companies to take
a more Enterprising approach to their business or jobs.
In enterprise a person or company will succeed because
they are always looking for a new challenge and will seek
out opportunities.
The
activities designed by Ideas In Partnership help to stimulate
this ‘dormant’ enterprising spirit in individuals and help
them become more creative, and by default more successful.
Ideas
In Partnership have developed a workshop for schools entitled
"Enterprising People". The main objectives
of the workshop are:-
 |
To enhance personal and social
development |
 |
To increase self-confidence and self-esteem |
 |
To improve employability through the
development of core skills |
 |
To develop enterprise skills through
a real business experience |
 |
To increase awareness, knowledge and
understanding of entrepreneurship |
 |
To encourage self-employment as a viable
career option |
Why
Enterprise?
Ideas
In Partnership believes that our society needs enterprising
youngsters, more so than ever before. They not only have
to compete in a world of technology, but also the emerging
new EU countries, will produce many skilled new entrants
to the market place. We need to create a “Can Do” culture.
Because
we genuinely work in partnership with the schools, understand
fully the Determined to Succeed Agenda and know how enterprise
can fit in, not just for core skills but how it can underpin
the curriculum (Curriculum for Excellence).
We
as an organisation are in business, so understand enterprise
at first hand; we are local and have a background in economic
development and education. We have also a track record
in delivering enterprise education in schools throughout
Scotland.
What
Do We Offer?
Firstly
we believe you do not need fancy or expensive resources.
Your resources are already there and by that we mean the
students and teachers. Our philosophy is about raising confidence
and self esteem through a number of creative thinking and
practical exercises. All of our workshops are extremely
motivational and most importantly, bring fun back into the
classroom.
We
have excellent links with the business community and would
involve them where appropriate. We also would want to marry
up any new enterprise project with a real issue from the
community so that all projects are relevant and involve
the local community and employers (Employer Engagement and
Citizenship).
How
Would We Deliver?
We
pride ourselves on our practical and tailor made solutions.
We do not come up with a script, but sit down with school
staff and discuss their objectives in order to ensure that
the enterprise module links in fully with the schools aims
and objectives. We firmly believe that there is not a "fit
for all" and we are capable of adapting.
This
flexible approach also spreads out into the type of workshop
you require.
We
can do any of the following:-
 |
Set The Scene
– perhaps at an assembly or prize giving scenario |
 |
Deliver specific classroom
modules - i.e: starting a business, marketing, finance
etc |
 |
Deliver a half-day workshop |
 |
Deliver 1 or 2 day conferences |
 |
Work with several schools
(Cluster approach) |
 |
Work with all ages and all
abilities including those with learning difficulties |
 |
Carry out evaluations |
 |
Twilight Sessions (CPD)
for teachers and staff. |
Who
Will Deliver?
The
company has staff, all of whom come from a business or education
background and who have been involved in enterprise for
a number of years. The principal was Head of Entrepreneurship
for Scottish Enterprise Grampian and seconded to Scottish
Enterprise National to deliver the highly successful Personal
Enterprise Shows.
Since
setting up Ideas In Partnership, the company has delivered
many more enterprise shows and workshops including the Get
Into Enterprise Conference in Glasgow. The Principal has
delivered Get Into Enterprise for Careers Scotland and has
run several teacher trainings in Grampian and throughout
Scotland. In previous years, the company has been
involved in the Edinburgh Schools 6th Year Conference.
Besides
the work with schools and colleges, the company works with
companies from start-ups to blue chip organisations, and
this wider experience can be directed as appropriate to
any schools enterprise activities.
